DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Ansonia Clock Co., New York, "Triumph" mirror-side shelf clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a walnut case with modern shelf matching the clock's base, c1890; (2) New Haven Clock Co., New Haven, Conn., "Vistula" parlor clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a walnut case with painted metal dial, c1885.
CONDITION:
(1) The case retains some original finish. The paper dial has been replaced and the dial pain remounted. The hands are original. There is a nearly complete Ansonia label on the back of the case. The door glass is original. The movement is signed and has been remounted twice. Cut glass pendulum is old, but may not have started life with this clock. The matching shelf is of more recent construction, but complements the clock nicely. (2) The case has a dark, but original finish. The painted dial is dirty and worn with some strengthening of the numerals and gold paint added to the perimeter. The door glass is original. Heavy cathedral gong. Decent rear paper label. Pendulum is a replacement. Dimensions are for the Vistula. Sold "as is ".
